SPEED ACADEMY
Speed Academy is a five-week program (Mon-Fri) with 1 hr and 20 min of on-ice training each day. Dryland follows the ice session on all days except Fridays which are scrimmage days. On Friday, athletes are released after their ice time. Speed Academy is run at an extremely high level of intensity pushing the skater well beyond their comfort zone, this over speed training, along with learning proper technique will produce a player that will have much more speed, quickness and agility.

PEEWEE TO BANTAM CHECKING
Don’t leave this part of the game to chance! Why risk injury? We can teach your player how to give and take a check along the boards or in open ice, how to apply pins, and proper angling techniques. Checking is a fun and exciting part of the game.  Our program will help your player take this next step.

PASSING AND SHOOTING - Sq/PW
We have all heard that passing is a lost art.  The art is not lost, it is just not practiced or taught. Most players just throw the puck around. We will teach the player the fine points of passing and more importantly where to place their pass on their teammates stick in game situations. Just as important and rewarding is for the players to shoot well. Wrist shot, snap shot and backhands you cannot be an effective player if you have a weak shot.  It’s all in the execution.

OPTIMUM DEFENSE
Ryan Zuhlsdorf, former UofM Gopher and professional hockey player, teaches the fundamentals that will help defensemen become better and more offensively minded. For 8 weeks, one day per week, each player will focus on skills to become a next level defenseman.

HEADS-UP STICKHANDLING
It doesn’t matter how great a skater you are if you can’t handle the puck! Skate like the wind but without good stickhandling skills your accomplishments will be limited.  Develop your stickhandling skills and you will be able to control the game!  Be ready to take the next step. Our program will help your player learn how to handle the puck through good quality instruction and repetition.

OFFENSE FOR DEFENSEMEN
Controlling the puck and quarterbacking the offensive zone is the role of a valuable defenseman. Contributing to the success of the team by creating an environment for scoring are the skills that Defensive Skills teaches to make you a more effective player.

PUCK PROTECTION
Protecting the puck allows players to maintain puck control under pressure from a defender. This 3-day clinic focuses on helping PeeWee and Squirt players develop the skills necessary to succeed on the ice by developing their ability  to position their body properly.

BATTLE CAMP
Focus is on skills that translate to game situations including body contact. Players will learn how to win one on one puck competition by using positioning, contact and other techniques in competing drills and combat games. Players will learn specific skill sets and will practice the application in game situations.
