SPEED ACADEMY
Speed Academy is a five-week program (Mon-Fri) with 1 hr and 20 min of on-ice training each day. Dryland follows the ice session on all days except Fridays which are scrimmage days. On Friday, athletes are released after their ice time. Speed Academy is run at an extremely high level of intensity pushing the skater well beyond their comfort zone, this over speed training, along with learning proper technique will produce a player that will have much more speed, quickness and agility.

OPTIMUM DEFENSE
Ryan Zuhlsdorf, former UofM Gopher and professional hockey player, teaches the fundamentals that will help defensemen become better, more offensively minded. For 8 weeks, one day per week, each player will focus on skills to become a next level defenseman.

BATTLE CAMP  
Focus is on skills that translate to game situations including body contact. Players will learn how to win one on one puck competition by using positioning, contact and other techniques in competing drills and combat games and will practice the applications in game situations.

SQUIRT SPEED AND SKILLS @ MMIC SLP
Training focuses on core skills all hockey players depend on. The first hour will be spent working on skill development drills. The last 20 minutes will be used for a scrimmage. We feel that a little hard work needs to be followed up by some fun.  Our schools are very organized and no time is wasted. This program is run at a very fast pace. Each year we get letters and comments from parents who are very happy with what their skater got out of our program.

SUMMER OF ICE

SQUIRT SCORING/DEKEING
You are alone against the goalie with no one else to count on but yourself . . . Can you get the job done? This clinic will teach you the moves so that you can execute and get your name on the score sheet. We will be breaking down different dekes and scoring techniques each day.  Goalies will be in net for practicing these developing skills.

STICKHANDLING
It doesn’t matter how great a skater you are if you can’t handle the puck! Skate like the wind but without good stickhandling skills your accomplishments will be limited.  Develop your heads up stickhandling skills and you will be able to control the game! Be ready to take the next step. Our program will help your player learn how to handle the puck through good quality instruction and repetition.

PW/SQ PUCK PROTECTION
Protecting the puck allows players to maintain puck control under pressure from a defender. This 3-day clinic focuses on helping PeeWee and Bantam players develop the skills necessary to succeed on the ice by developing their ability  to position their body properly.

PASSING & SHOOTING
We will teach the player the fine points of passing and more importantly where to place their pass on their teammates stick in game situations.  Just as important and rewarding is for the players to shoot well. Wrist shot, snap shot and backhands you cannot be an effective player if you have a weak shot.  It’s all in the execution.
